Mortal Shell II Walkthrough
A spoiler-controlled route through the prologue, first region and Magdalena boundary.

Checkpoint 1 — Prologue
Complete each tutorial prompt and use the lowest-risk enemy to test Harden during a swing. Do not pass a new resource display until you know what action spends it.
The beta officially moves from the prologue into the first explorable region. This route keeps later story details behind named checkpoints.
Checkpoint 2 — First region
Survey the primary path, identify one short detour and look back at the route home. Possessing a Shell is a build choice, so test its innate behavior before investing.
Cleanse a reachable beacon when the area is controlled. Read its current launch effect rather than importing a beta assumption.
Checkpoint 3 — Optional dungeon
Enter with a known retreat and enough healing for discovery. Hidden mini-bosses, challenges and optional dungeons are confirmed in the opening region.
If the branch consumes every resource before a stable checkpoint, leave and return after one meaningful weapon or Shell upgrade.
Checkpoint 4 — Magdalena
The official opening route points toward Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods. Resolve nearby experiments before crossing that named commitment boundary.
This first edition stops there instead of pretending preview footage is a complete ending route. Later checkpoints require current, independently verified launch evidence.
Detour decision gate
At every branch, compare the visible objective, remaining healing, known return path and value of the experiment. Enter when at least three are favorable; otherwise mark the landmark and continue toward the next verified checkpoint.
This keeps the route spoiler-controlled while still respecting the optional dungeons, hidden mini-bosses and challenges confirmed for the first explorable region.
Walkthrough version control
Use named places and observable interface prompts as checkpoints, not unverified quest numbering from previews. If the launch build moves a trigger, follow the current objective text and retain the surrounding preparation sequence.
The route stops at Magdalena because later progression needs launch evidence. That boundary prevents beta footage from being presented as a complete campaign walkthrough.
Checkpoint recovery protocol
When a checkpoint attempt fails, return to the last verified anchor and repeat only the failed segment with the same Shell and weapon. Record the objective prompt before and after the segment so a changed launch trigger is caught without rewriting every earlier checkpoint.
Sources & visual context
Version note: open-beta behavior is never treated as permanent launch fact. Interface labels, balance, triggers and performance can change after the August 2026 release.
Mortal Shell II Walkthrough FAQ
Is this the full ending route?
This is not a fabricated ending route; it is a verified opening walkthrough with a clear spoiler boundary. It covers the prologue, first explorable region, one optional dungeon decision, and preparation for Magdalena. Later checkpoints require evidence from the current release rather than preview inference.
What follows the prologue?
The official beta description places the first explorable region directly after the prologue. Pause there to test possession, identify a stable landmark, and inspect a short detour before committing resources. That preparation makes later route instructions easier to reproduce after patches.
Should I clear every branch?
You do not need to clear every branch on the first visit. Enter a detour only with a recognizable return route and enough healing to learn what it contains. Leave when the cost threatens the main objective, then return after a meaningful Shell or weapon improvement.
Who is Magdalena?
Magdalena is identified in official beta material as the Lady of the Woods and an opening-route destination. This guide treats her name as a boundary, not permission to invent unseen story steps. Prepare nearby experiments before crossing into content that may reveal more narrative context.
Can the route change?
Yes, triggers, rewards, and route details can change between a beta and the released build. Follow the current objective text when it contradicts older footage. Preserve the last verified checkpoint so only the changed segment needs to be retested.
